Hi there,

I've been conned into buying an RO unit through the Precipitator test. I was so horrified at the result of this test that I bought the unit and obviously gave details of all my family to the sales person to contact to have their water tested.

I am horrified to see that I'm still drinking impure water without minerals - which is worse!

What can I do to get my money back?
(I also had a unit installed for my mother)

I don't know what you need to do to get your money back. You will have to ask the company that sold you the unit.

If you bought an RO unit then you should drinking pure water. The water is in fact practically distilled to the extent that there are no minerals in the water. Whether that is a good or bad thing is hotly debated.

If you insist on drinking distilled water, then the RO unit is purifying your water well. We feel it is too well. A normal water purifier (i.e. not an RO) will do the necessary. Also, an RO unit wastes about 5 litres of water for every one litre you keep.

Worst of all is that the sales person tricked you into buying the unit through a scare tactic.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a buyer with a large catering company. Naturally this water test or scam as you have referred to It, has my attention and interest. Your website demo and explanation in my opinion is misleading for the following reasons.

1. All they have done apparently, is prove that there are minerals in tap and most bottled waters. You have confirmed this.

2. You have also confirmed that there are no minerals in distilled water and pure water by reverse osmosis, once again confirming their demonstration.

Therefore the debate revolves around the benefit or not, of minerals in the water, not the purification process. Should a person prefer to drink water with no minerals present then the purifier will do the job.

We are not concerned whether the resulting purified water has minerals or not. We are concerned about the tactics of salesman.

To respond to point 1 - their tests prove that there are no minerals in the water. That is all the tests prove. But they lead you into the impression that the water is dirty if there are minerals in it. In fact, they don't mention minerals, all they do is say is that the water is not safe to drink. Then they especially use the precipitator test to 'demonstrate' how dirty the water is. When people see the resulting brown sludge, they are horrified and buy the RO system. In truth, the brown sludge is just a result of the electrodes reacting with the minerals. It is an unscrupulous scam and they know it.

To respond to point 2 - Once again there demonstration is a scare tactic

We, my folks and I got one of these systems. I'm in pta and they are in East London.

We have never felt better after using clean water.
There are so much crap in our water, and if you can guarantee that our water is clean and has no "shit" in it, then you can make these remarks.

But someone must have pissed on your stoop and now all is up to shit.

This has changed a couple of people's lives.

I hope more people buy this and realise how crappy our water is.

Ps: I know you will not put my letter on your site,
That will defeat your purpose.

Please note that we are not concerned with the quality of products sold. If the product is cleaning your water to your satisfaction, then great.

The salesman tell you that the precipitator and TDS test show how dirty your water is, and looking at the disgusting brown water after the precipitator test is enough to make anyone reach for their wallets and buy the product on the spot.

Our purpose is to expose this sales technique which is an unscrupulous scare tactic rather than the truth; which is as bad as getting your doorstep pissed on.

I admit it is a bit of a click, click, click path but from there you will get the greatest advise that South Africa has to offer.

I had an agent visit me last night to demonstrate the exact same concept mentioned here. He had supporting documentation and letters published from a Dr Van Eden who allegedly is awaiting trial for exposing the governments cover-up on the contaminated water that we consume. He also had numerous articles and test results of findings in the water samples that were tested by different companies. Chemicals such as benzene, arsenic, lead, mercury and various other toxins were on the results sheet.

Is there no truth at all to this demo that was performed?

All the demo does is tell you that there are 'things' in the water. A lot of the time, those 'things' are simply minerals which are of course, safe to drink. The demo itself however results in the water turning to a brown sludge. It looks horrific! The salespeople capitalise on your horror and sell you reverse osmosis systems.

If you took distilled water and added a pinch of salt, it would ALSO turn into a brown sludge. All that is happening is that the minerals are reacting to the electrodes.

So the demo is not specifically showing impurities. All it is showing is that water that is distilled will not react to the electrodes.

The sales people are consciously using a scare tactic to sell you reverse osmosis water purifiers.

I just visited your website http://www.watertestscam.org.za/ and am quite dissapointed with some of the information/content distributed on your page.

I have a company that sells water purification systems and I agree to a certain extend with your findings. However, I believe that water purification systems have been given a bad reputation because of what is stated on your pages.

A couple of things that remain a mystery to me is:

1) on the index page you stated: "Note: Water purified using a reverse osmosis system (RO) has very little or no minerals present in the water..." I disagree. Our RO system removes all the minerals - good and bad. It does also, however, take the purified water through a phase (the mineral stage) where the water passes through corel and the good trace elements (73 trace elements) and 60% oxygen is restored into the water.

Also, I feel that you have neglected to insert that "The only minerals the body can utilize are the organic minerals (from living matter - trace elements). All the others are foreign minerals and must be disposed of or eliminated. Herein lies the problem - we have never suspected as the possible cause of nearly all our ageing diseases" - Dr. Allen E. Banik “The Choice is Clear".

2) Also on the index page is: "Salesman could measure normal or purified water with a higher mineral count than RO and could state that if the water has a high TDS content then it is impure and unhealthy. TDS alone is not an indication of the safety of the water as it only tests the mineral content.". I do agree that only one type of test is not sufficient evidence, but you never mentioned that a high TDS count (over 25) is unsafe. A measurement of 25 or below is safe only if the minerals are organic (trace elements) and that heavy metals are unsafe for human consumption.

3) Still on the index page is: "This water does not conduct electricity since to conduct electricity minerals need to be present in the water." Our system replaces the trace elements and trace elements do not conduct electricity - it is rather the heavy metals that conduct electricity.

4) you display a picture on your website (http://www.watertestscam.org.za/images/salt.jpg) which is the result of salt being added to purified water.

It is a scam!

I have also been scammed. by the representative of Aqua Angel and I have bought a 5 stage RO system.

My question is can I change this system to say a two or three stage system whereby the good minerals will be left in the water while the harmful elements in the water are still removed.

If it can be done will you be able to explain how.

You will find that your reverse osmosis water purifier is doing it's job. You can get a remineraliser to put minerals back in your water. The benefits of having minerals left or removed from water is hotly debated by doctors and specialists all over the world. People print books on this subject. The choice is yours.

Thanks to your web-site, I have just been convinced that I have been
conned!

I was visited by a company (Virgin Water) this afternoon and was shown (using the precipitator demo) how "yucky" our tap water really is?

Curious to know more about this "precipitator", I found all the info I
need to realise that this was a con.

Believing that my "tap" water is really disgusting, I signed up with
"Virgin Water" to have one installed - I have only just paid a deposit of R300.00 and have to pay a further amount of R3700.00! Furthermore, my wife is almost 7 months pregnant and this was the trump card in convincing us to buy this purifier thinking that this will indeed harm our expected baby.

I have contacted the salesperson to put a hold on this deal, with the hope of getting our money back. Failing this, if we are forced to buy this unit, are there any real benefits in having a water purification system installed?

i was on ur sight and after reading ur msg on R.O. being a "SCAM"
i was worried, because i own one.... how ever
after looking up minerals in tap nd bottlr water on the net..
i have learnd that the minerals in tap nd bottle water are inorganic,
therefore my body cant use them!! in actual fact theye store up in ur joints giving u kidny nd gall stones..etc
so go read "fit for life" or the natural way nd if u still dont get the piont ....pick up a "choice is clear "by Dr Alin Banik!

I had a visit by a salesman in my area.
I said to him that I wanted to compare the price R7000 (some USA thing) to the competition and do some research before I buy.

He was from ForeverPure.
Based in Kempton Park.
Expanding to Boksburg they said.....

I would much sooner take my chances with our tap water as it is rather than drink water that has been in contact with a bacteria laden filter at room temperature for sometime

jug – filtered water from the fridge is acceptable
